My story

I’m a strategic research and business leader with over 20 years’ experience in research and more than 15 years specialising in UX Research, data intelligence, and product strategy. I work with organisations to shift research from a tactical support function to a strategic capability, one that shapes direction, informs executive decision-making, and delivers measurable business impact.

I’ve led, scaled, and trained global research teams across multiple markets and disciplines, embedding research at the core of product, technology, and business strategy, including the responsible integration of AI. My strength lies in making sense of complexity: turning fragmented, ambiguous data into clear, actionable insight, while ensuring human judgement, ethics, and context remain central as organisations adopt AI at scale.

My mission is to elevate the role of UX research by developing leadership, confidence, and strategic judgement. My vision is a future where researchers are not just consulted, but are trusted to lead.

Writing, Teaching, and Executive Advisory

I’m the author of Practical User Research, a strategic guide on embedding user research into product development from the outset, moving it beyond usability testing into a core driver of product and business decisions.

My latest book, The UX Research Powerhouse,Vol 1  explores what it really takes to lead UX Research today. It focuses on research leadership, organisational influence, and decision-making in environments shaped by AI, increasing complexity, and constant transformation.

Before COVID, I designed and delivered a series of in-person workshops on the foundations of user research, covering topics such as usability testing, participant recruitment, and integrating research into product development. These sessions became the foundation of UX Research Club, where I continue to share practical thinking on research practice, leadership, and influence.

I’ve also delivered Leading with Data for the C-level programme of European Women on Boards, supporting senior leaders in using data and insight to inform strategic decisions across their organisations.

From Insight to Influence

My journey began on the ground, conducting usability tests, immersing myself in product teams, and building research capabilities from scratch. Over the years, I’ve worked alongside design, product, analytics, and strategy leaders to scale research that drives real change.

Through years of leading teams and shaping research practice, I’ve come to see leadership as a shift in how we think, not just in what we do. It’s the evolution from delivering findings to shaping decisions; from observing the business to helping lead it.

Becoming a UX Research Leader is designed for experienced researchers stepping into or preparing for leadership roles.

The masterclass focuses on the mindset shift from individual contributor to leader, exploring how to move from delivering insights to shaping direction, influencing decisions, and leading with purpose, confidence, and strategic impact.
